When we hear the word currency, we usually think of money. But perhaps currency is simply what we choose to accumulate.
Some people collect wealth.
Others collect status, freedom, beauty, knowledge, experiences, relationships, or influence.
If you could optimise your life for only one currency — what would it be?
I think understanding was the first thing that came to mind.
Understanding ideas — for clarity, creativity and innovation.
Understanding the world — for perspective, adaptability and better decisions.
Understanding limits — for humility.
Understanding myself — for confidence and authenticity.
And being truly understood by a few people — for trust, intimacy and belonging.
Maybe that's why these questions keep coming back:
What is true?
Why does it work this way?
What can't be changed?
Who am I?
Who truly sees me?
I think mine will be Impact.
I want my decisions to have a clear effect on the world.
I want to look back on how the world has changed and say, “I did that.”
I don't need fame.
I just need the satisfaction of knowing that I made that happen.
And money is also not really important compared to that.
I liked that neither of us chose money.
One of us wants to understand the world.
The other wants to change it.
Maybe those two currencies need each other.
If your life could optimise for only one currency, what would it be?
